'Easter Iza' (I have to give Polish people adjectives for their names because
some names are so common) worked with Chefs for Kids to organise a tent to give out soft toys,
lollipops etc. on The Day of the Children.
Dzien Dziecka is a pretty big thing here. I think most of the kids in Bialystok turned
up to sit in fire engines and play the siren, play football, sit in police cars and play
the siren, play archery, running games, minecraft etc and of courses go back and play the sirens again.
The queue for the sirens was considerable
The Chefs for Kids tent also had face painting.
The face painting was enormously popular with Ukraine and Polish kids alike.
'Niece Iza' (see what I mean with Polish names) joined in helping paint the faces.
When we were about to close there was still a queue of about 10 kids.
Ewa and I had to stand at the end of the queue and make a lot of kids unhappy
by telling them it was finished.
